Helix - Civil Engineering & Groundworks Case Study

The Helix Civils Company provides services to both private clients & The Helix Group of companies and undertakes all types of civils & groundworks mainly within the Northwest Region with particular focus in Liverpool & Manchester. Typical works include all types of foundations steel reinforcement, formwork, lift pits, all types of drainage and attenuation tanks, Both Foul and Rainwater section 106 connections to UU infrastructure, Section 278 works including paving soft and hard landscaping for local authorities.

Ongoing Projects

Regent Plaza, Regent Road, Salford

We are completing the foundations for block B on the development on Regent Plaza this involves the excavation of pile caps and ring/ground beams breaking down of the augured piles, the making up and placement of steel reinforcement cages formwork and the placing of concrete, also contained within this package is both the foul and surface water drainage systems, later work will include the full external works package including roads pavings and outdoor living space public areas.

Section 278 Works - Shaw Street, Liverpool

We are undertaking the upgrading of the existing footpaths on Sections Shaw Street Liverpool removing the existing kerbs and paving and replacing with new with improvements for the members of the public.

The Quadrant Liverpool

Our works have included the excavation and construction of the main front entrance to the student accommodation we have formed the access ramps and new steps re-formed all the external levels to provide an eye pleasing front entrance with complementing colours of the external works to blend in with the new building, The planting scheme was also undertaken by the civils company along with a completion of both the foul and surface water including the construction of an underground attenuation tank for the storage of surface water in times of high flow volume.
